PR Agency Fired Over Tweets About Negative ‘Duke Nukem Forever’ Game Reviews
A PR agency called The Redner Group has been fired by video game company 2K Games after it told games reviewers on Twitter that it would decide who will receive advance copies of games in the future based on their reviews of “Duke Nukem Forever.”
Following what it felt were overly negative reviews of the game, The Redner Group sent out a tweet from its own Twitter account, saying that, “Too many went too far with their reviews. We r reviewing who gets games next time and who doesn’t based on today’s venom.”
The tweet was posted by The Redner Group founder James Redner, according to The Drum, and has been deleted. Redner later returned to Twitter to post an apology for his actions:
It appears as though the apology was not enough for 2K Games, which both fired Redner and released a statement about the incident:
2K Games does not endorse or condone the comments made by @TheRednerGroup and confirm they no longer represent our products. We maintain a mutually respectful relationship with the press and will continue to do so. We don’t condone @TheRednerGroup’s actions at all.
This is just the latest in a long line of mishaps that have caused those in the public eye to get into serious trouble. Rep. Anthony Weiner admitted that he tweeted an inappropriate photo of himself to a college student (as well as participating in explicit online exchanges with other women, including in Facebook chats), which led to his resignation Thursday.
Scott Bartosiewicz – who dropped an F-bomb on Chrysler’s official Twitter account – was fired for his mistake and, last week, a social media manager was fired for tweeting that workers at a partly government-funded agency leave work early on Fridays over the summer to play golf. All of these incidents just go to show that you should watch what you tweet.

Wow, a bunch of stupid asses if you think nobody is going to see your posts on Twitter, etc… fucking morons.
