Artist Creates Cool Animated Tattoo With Help From Facebook Users

When it comes to creativity, artists are constantly pushing the boundaries of what they can create. Karl Marc, a tattoo artist based in Paris, has created something very cool with this animated tattoo.

Marc etched the tattoo on a man named Marco on June 16 as part of the Ballantine’s Scotch Whisky Human API project. The process of tattooing Marco was live streamed on Ballantine’s Facebook Page and viewers were able to make some suggestions about the tattoo — which certainly seems to be real, unlike a previous social media-related tattoo — as Marc was carrying out his work.

While the social aspect of the tattoo creation process is pretty cool, there is something even more awesome about the design that Marco has on his body. Marc has included a QR code in the design that, when scanned with a smartphone, launches a YouTube video that matches up with the tattoo and brings it to life with a cool animation.

This video of the tattoo being created, which has received more than 50,000 views since being uploaded on Monday, is fascinating and well worth a few moments of your time.
