Google CEO Larry Page Confirms Google+ Has Over 10M Users, 1B Items Shared And Received Daily

In Google‘s quarterly earnings conference call Thursday, CEO Larry Page confirmed that the company’s Google+ social project has surpassed 10 million users after launching a little over 2 weeks ago.

Page revealed that Google+ users are sharing and receiving more than 1 billion items of content each day. In addition, the +1 button is being served 2.3 billion times per day across the Web.

He also said that Google earned $9.03 billion in gross revenue in Q2, which is up 32 percent from the same period in 2010. Page revealed some interesting stats about Android and Chrome too: around 550,000 Android devices are being activated daily (160 million people are using the mobile platform) and Chrome is the fastest growing Web browser with over 160 million users.

We already had an indication that Google+ had more than 10 million users, but those numbers were not official. With the runaway success of Google + so far, it looks like Google employees might be getting a 25 percent boost in their bonus.
