INFOGRAPHIC: The Evolution Of Social Business Platforms

Several social business services exist that allow businesses to connect with their communities, publish content to the Web and promote their products through social commerce. Other social business platforms allow employees to collaborate with each other throughout the workday without having to resort to email.

A new infographic published by Get Satisfaction takes a look at some of these social business platforms and how they are being used by companies. Within 3 years, the market for social business tools, software and services is expected to reach $4.6 billion worldwide. These social business platforms cover areas such as social media, e-commerce and social technology.

Platforms such as Yammer, Chatter, WordPress and Tumblr are highlighted as social business tools in the infographic.

The infographic also reveals some of the results from a study of 900 U.S.-based executives. It is revealed that 53 percent think that their company will have to adapt and start using social business tools or they will fall behind their competitors. Around 57 percent think that their revenue or sales will increase after starting to use social business tools.
