iOS 9.3 Beta 5 And iOS 9.2.1 Jailbreak Update – Coming Soon?

iOS 9.3 beta 5
Yesterday, in a surprise move, Apple seeded a new beta of iOS 9.3 to developers: iOS 9.3 beta 5 – we weren’t expecting that until at least next week! Good news, jailbreakers, this could speed up jailbreak iOS 9.2.1 release schedule. For those that don’t know, once released iOS 9.3 will add Night Shift (like f.lux), a Control Center toggle for Night Shift, UI improvements to the Health app, security for Notes (including Touch ID protection), an updated algorithm for the ‘For You’ section inside the News app and more.

iOS 9.3 Beta 5 Jailbreak Update

Interestingly, the new beta simply adds back Apple pencil navigation support – something that was taken out of the iPad Pro’s iteration of iOS 9.3 since the first beta seed. It also removes a prompt when attempting to toggle Night Shift in control center, but that’s it!

We expect iOS 9.3 will arrive during Apple’s much-rumored iPhone SE and iPad Air 3 unveiling event, which is expected on either the 15th or 21st of this month.

Jailbreak And iOS 9.3 Beta

iOS 9.3 Beta UpdateAs for jailbreaking, considering TaiG appears to be waiting for iOS 9.3 to drop before pushing out their jailbreak, the release of iOS 9.3 will influence that of the jailbreak – i.e. the sooner we get iOS 9.3, the sooner we get the jailbreak. With that understood, since iOS 9.3 beta 5 came sooner than expected, it’s certainly possible the public version will too.

Of course we’ll let you know any time anything happens in the world of jailbreaking; stay tuned.

iOS 9.2.1 Jailbreak Draws Closer With iOS 9.3 Beta 6 Released

  1. I’m currently on 9.2.1 should I update to the 9.3 Beta 5? Which jailbreak will release first 9.2.1 or 9.3? And if 9.3 Beta Jailbreak comes first will Apple still make it sign able after the official release of 9.3?

    • It will likely be released for iOS 9.3 with backwards compatibility for iOS 9.2.1 and lower. Won’t be out until after iOS 9.3 drops.
