It was announced October 27, 2011 that Sony has bought out Ericsson's portion of the joint venture that is was Sony Ericsson for €1.05 billion in cash. The joint venture came to be a little over a decade ago, but Sony will officially take full control of the subsidiary in January 2012, when the deal is expected to close.

Featured in the 007 film Skyfall, the Sony Xperia TL offers HD capture and viewing. Key features include a 4.6" HD Reality touchscreen display, NFC, mobile hotspot, data tethering, 13MP camera, Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), DLNA, NFC, and Xperia SmartTags.
AT&T has confirmed that it plans to offer the Sony Xperia TL featuring a 4.55-inch 720p display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 13-megapixel camera. Also included in the Xperia TL is NFC support and AT&T 4G LTE connectivity and Android 4.0.4.
With almost identical specs as the Xperia tipo, the dual makes it so you can switch SIM cards any time with a simple press of the button.
